Cookie Policy
Last updated: April 19, 2026
Spicybraintest.com uses cookies to make the site work properly and to understand how visitors use it through Google Analytics. We don’t use tracking cookies for advertising. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not work correctly without them.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that websites place on your device (computer, phone, tablet) when you visit. They’re used to remember things about your visit โ like your preferences, whether you’re logged in, or what pages you’ve already seen โ and to measure how the site is being used.
Similar technologies (like local storage, session storage, and web beacons) serve related purposes. In this policy, we use “cookies” as shorthand for all of them.
Why we use cookies
We use cookies for two main reasons:
- To make the site work. Some cookies are essential โ the site can’t function properly without them.
- To understand how the site is used. We use Google Analytics to see which pages are popular, where visitors come from, and how we can improve the experience.
We don’t use cookies for:
- Advertising or retargeting
- Selling your data to third parties
- Building detailed profiles of individual visitors
The cookies we use
Essential cookies
These are required for the site to work correctly. They can’t be switched off through our site, though you can disable them in your browser settings (which may break parts of the site).
- WordPress session cookies โ set by WordPress and Quill Forms to manage your quiz session, remember your progress through questions, and protect against cross-site request forgery (CSRF) attacks.
- Cookie consent preference โ if you dismiss a notice or set a preference, we may remember that choice so we don’t keep asking.
How long they last: Most essential cookies are deleted when you close your browser. Some may persist for up to one year.
Analytics cookies
We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate patterns in how visitors use the site. Google Analytics sets several cookies:
- _ga โ distinguishes unique visitors. Lasts up to 2 years.
- _ga_<container-id> โ used to persist session state. Lasts up to 2 years.
- _gid โ distinguishes unique visitors. Lasts 24 hours.
We have configured Google Analytics with IP anonymization where available. Data is aggregated and doesn’t identify individual visitors. Learn more about Google’s privacy practices in Google’s Privacy Policy.
How to control cookies
In your browser
Most browsers let you view, manage, and delete cookies. The exact steps vary by browser:
You can also use your browser’s “private browsing” or “incognito” mode, which typically blocks most cookies by default.
Heads up: If you disable or block essential cookies, some features of spicybraintest.com may not work correctly โ for example, you may not be able to complete a quiz.
Opt out of Google Analytics specifically
If you want to keep your browser cookies enabled but prevent Google Analytics from tracking your visits to any website, you can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. It’s free and works across most major browsers.
Do Not Track signals
Some browsers include a “Do Not Track” (DNT) setting. There isn’t yet a universal standard for how websites should respond to DNT, and we currently don’t alter our behavior based on DNT signals. We apply the same privacy practices to all visitors regardless of DNT settings.
Cookies set by third parties
As explained above, Google Analytics sets its own cookies when you visit our site. We don’t control these third-party cookies directly, though we do control which third-party services we use. If we add or remove services, we’ll update this page.
We do not currently use:
- Advertising or retargeting cookies (e.g., Meta Pixel, Google Ads)
- Social media tracking pixels
- A/B testing platforms that track individual users
If this changes, we’ll update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent before activating such cookies.
Changes to this Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy as our use of cookies changes. When we make material updates, we’ll change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Significant changes may also be announced through the site or by email.
